Fall While Riding |

Olympic dressage team and individual gold medalist,
Charlotte Dujardin, has stated that she wears a helmet
while riding due to previously fractured her skull in a
fall from a horse. Dujardin became a global role model
for safety after she donned a helmet to compete in the
London 2012 Olympics. Dujardin’s team mates, Carl Hester
and Laura Bechtolsheimer, elected to wear the
“traditional” top hat rather than a helmet. |

Ian Millar riding high heading into record 10th
Olympics |

A first-time Olympian in 1972, Millar has done just
about everything in show jumping except win Olympic
gold. There are his nine Pan Am Games medals, best in

Another Olympic LEGEND - Stroller |
|
|
Another Olympic LEGEND - Stroller is the only pony
to have competed in the Olympics. Stroller was a
14.2 HH Connemara Pony, Thoroughbred cross. Not only
did this diminutive equine athlete compete, but with
his owner/rider Marion Mould brought home a
individual show jumping silver medal from the 1968
Olympic games in Mexico. He jumped one of the only
two clear rounds in the final competition. |
